i recently used jb weld metal epoxy to fit 1 3/4 bsp pipe flange onto my 5hp briggs and stratton engine, no problem no leaks. i used it in january to repair the engine side casing for my c90 after i left it outside the local on xmas eve and storm blew the damn thing over and the footrest bent that much it cracked the casing. Just make sure surface is clean, i used ali flap wheel

An epoxy is what's been used before and it's not worked well, as you say I think cleanliness may have been the issue.

I've sourced a replacement tank for a tenner so it's just not worth messing around with to be honest.

Thanks for the first hand though. Makes you actually think something can work when it's used in the real world

Buy the used tank for a tenner and give him that tell him you fixed it. 3hrs labour @ £25ph plus materials.
Then you have a knackered tank sitting about just asking you to eliminate any curiosity of "could I of actually repaired it".

S'okay got to make a new tank for a 60cc two stroke chainsaw engine that is destined to become a powerplant to something that'll hurt me. That'll give me plenty of practice

If you haven't bought that one for a tenner yet I've got at least 4 of the bloody things you can have for post (it's definitely about 5 years past clear out time)...

Thinking about it, you can have the engines they're bolted to as well!

That eBay chap hasn't got back to me so I wondered if you're still up letting a tank go mate?

Honestly, I email the guy asking if he has the part and he replies he has. I say great can you list one for me please and no answer
