TIG brazing issues

I managed to get the whole knee casting on my miller sizzling hot with the roofers torch - biggest one machine mart sell...

good for killing weeds of the drive with aswell i got a mint second hand one from autojumble for a tenner complete used it on daughters garage roof for the torch on felt and weeds

Right.....preheating in the oven...complete waste of time.

Roofers torch....hot as I could get it....brazed, heated, brazed, heated.....

So far so good. Wrapped up in welding blankets and bunged into the oven to cool.

Fingers crossed....not entirely confident.

I think I'll just get it as good as I can then brace is with a steel plate.

how long did u pre heat the oven for?

An hour at 250c

both are well handy. i mainly use oxyacet only about 4 times a year but invaluable and wouldnt want to part or be without it

I was using a sievert

But you are right... I've longed for some heating gear for a long time.

I need to change gas suppliers anyway so I'll get a quote for oxygen whilst I'm at it.

I can get propane mega cheap so I'll give oxy propane a try. (Boo hiss)
