All for £168. Who's gonna be the first to buy one and give us the gen ? (A whopping £89 p&p though. but at least this one isn't trying to hide its origin. The imperfect English grammar doesn't exactly engender trust though)

Hi,

I've had my Christmas present from Weldequip so I can't buy it for a while at least...

but i've had plasma cutter consumables off this seller, quick delivery, decent price, no problems.

I also had the cheek to ask later if they'd got an English translation of the plasma manual and they sent me a pdf file with compliments.

They seem to have been around for a while so I'd say the guarantee they offer is genuine.

/But/ as with all things, caveat emptor, etc, don't moan at me if they prove to be rip-off merchants :-)

Don`t forget you have 20 per cent on top for import. I think that is a Ryland machine and is pretty decent. If I needed one I would buy it.

It does state

"Import Tax

so you may get away with it. I think there may also be one of those 'german' machines from Rehmann or similar, with the same options.

I gather import duty is a bit of a lottery, I know of several people who've bought stuff and never had to pay it but also several who have. I had 2 inkjet continuous ink systems delivered from China and didn't have to pay it, iirc the package was marked as 'low value' or something like that.

The fact that it appears to be targeted towards the UK market and has an optional welding hood with a bald eagle/American Flag/F-14 is somewhat comical to me.

Hi,

yes, rather like telling a foreigner that you're from England and they ask 'what part of London are you from'.

They know a bit about us but not everything, and so they have to assume some parts of it.
