After the not so kind threads about Weldquip I thought I would post a good one, I ordered a new mig torch Thursday afternoon, I immediately got a email with details on it, I then got an email and text telling me it would be delivered on Friday.
This morning I got email and text telling me that Fabio would be delivering between 0930-1030
Knock on the door at 1005 and I had it.
Damn good service I would say !!!

Another from me.. contacted Steve yesterday for a spare for my Gys which I had accidentally damaged by chipping the paint....Don't ask. and answer straight back, part ordered paid for by PayPal and expecting delivery next week.
Can't complain at service via e mail.

Ahoy there,

I’m going to have to chip in here, too. Just had something from WeldEquip come through first thing this morning, after only realising I needed it quite late in the day. The delivery guy in my case was called Justin, and he was so early, (before his 1hr time window) he wasn’t able to make the delivery until the “System” allowed him to.

Dealt with the fellow at WeldEquip originally about 5-10 years years ago, everything happened at warp speed, and it wasn’t overly straight-forward, due to me making late changes etc. Nothing’s changed, he still comes through, and quick in my experience.

And no, I’m not even remotely connected to the place!

Maybe I’ve been away too long, dealing with life’s little nightmares, to have seen these dodgy comments come & go, but there are most likely much better ways to resolve any differences, you have. (E-mail, PM’s?)

Sometimes better to say your piece, than bite your tongue, but often not.

(yeah, yeah - why did I just “say my piece”, then? - This is in the “sometimes” category!)

I buy my front end Mig consumables from Weldequip; tips, gas adaptors, springs, shrouds and liners, etc. including a couple of Paraweld SB250 X 4mtr complete torch assemblies, and in 3 years I have never experienced a single problem with any of these orders.

Ordered on-line one day, dispatch notice and tracking details via email the day after, delivered the day after that... 48-72 hours from point of order to point of delivery... no problem.

its great on line tracking by the courier as u know when they recieve it then sending it and the texts to let u know when it will be delivered. most companys do it nowdays

It seems that with general sales, there never seem to be any issues. Any concerns that a few have expressed in the past seem to only occur with the occasional machine order? Just my observation, I could be wrong.
Any dealings I have ever had with Weldequip have always been perfect service.

Suppliers often tell fibs, pass them onto client and it lands you In trouble. I told one client three different dates after getting promises from my Past laser cutting suppliers

if you quote a week for delivery, the buyer will expect it to be delivered on Monday morning, but the buyer will mean it can take upto Friday afternoon to be delivered.

I too have had good service from Weldequip on a number of occasions. However, there is a huge difference between ordering a few bits and having them arrive promptly and paying a large sum for a welder and finding that emails and phone calls aren't answered, which seemed to be the issue.

That is exactly my experience of Weldequip.

I do know that in my particular case it was Portamig who were at fault and the root cause of all the problems, and not Steve or Weldequip. When I actually got to speak to Steve on the phone the issue was resolved within the hour. His positive pro-active actions resolving the situation did not turn me away from using weldequip in the future; on the contrary, I still buy from them, as I did before all of my front end Mig consumables on a batch order every 3 months or so.

However, Portamig's couldn't care less attitude, poor build quality, shipment errors, and sluggish reactions has turned me away from them for life............. none of which were the right impression to give me as a small business owner and new customer on his first order with them!

I bought my GYS 162 plus regulator/gauges, wire, helmet, gloves etc from Weldequip recently without and issues - even change the details of my order and all done promptly via e mail. I have no connection but can say the transaction was totally painless.
