Thread turning tool.

My concern is the OP is not dealing with mild steel, and may work harden it while single pointing it, along comes the die, and
being a very light final cut, get's chipped/broken.

Silversteel is generally very nice to turn and is not going to work harden from normal turning.

Mild steel, en3b, has caused me more broken tools than any other steel. Generally gives a rough, torn finish with hard spots all over.

Die nuts for chasing threads as there’s no adjustment so should be set pretty close.
I only chase after screw cutting with whitworth threads
