Just a quicky:

The screw thread on an Argon reg measures 0.875" and 14 tpi. Is this a 7/8" UNF Threadform? Or is it another?

That's one of the sizes used, different standards in different countries though... in the UK (or at least GB) cylinders are to BS341, argon would be BS3 5/8" BSP RH internal. Europe use DIN477
7/8" x 14tpi UNF would be the American CGA iirc
