So stripped a valve cover hole for an m7 x 1 bolt seems to be cast ali so v-coil, Re-coil or any of the other coils i reckon should be suitable? prob is i dont understand and am probably confusing myself here is if i need ti repeir a hole at m7 why does an m7 kit come with a 7.3 drill, m7 tap and m7 insert? will this not reduce the size of the hole too much or does this half the reason they work being so tight I know very silly question, probably answered it myself but i over read into things but am learning rakes every day so just need put up with it i have too lol

The repair kit will reinstate the hole to its original size.

Hello Scott,

the tap is not a 7mm tap, it is a special oversize tap to suit the coil insert, and the drill will be correct for that tap. I.e., you cannot use a normal 7mm tap. The retapped hole suits the outside 'thread' of the insert. They are easy to use and very effective. I must admit for smaller sizes in aluminium i don't use the drill, just the tap.
