I treat any engine I buy as if it needs rebuilding. The last "rebuilt" engine I bought had some very iffy work (old, worn lifters on a new performance camBallcocks. Knew it when did it stood there looking at it.
So best to strip remove pistons and clean up. Don't want it go tits up now.
