Thoughts on these engine valves?

Rebuilt just means put back together. Those valves has obviously been lapped, but should have been reground and the seats recut.

Wonder what the rest of the engine is like ?

Ballcocks. Knew it when did it stood there looking at it.

So best to strip remove pistons and clean up. Don't want it go tits up now.

I treat any engine I buy as if it needs rebuilding. The last "rebuilt" engine I bought had some very iffy work (old, worn lifters on a new performance cam among them).

If the stems are worn, they might not seal properly, leading to compression loss. Giving them a clean and checking with a micrometer could help figure out if they're still good.

For when you've got the timing so far out, it's sparking with the valves still open?
