Im eyeing up my 110 landrover again.
A new chassis is about £2.5k or something.
Mine isnt (currently) that bad, but its been welded up, and i know (from past experience) that, once they start to be welded, its an ongoing thing.
Hot dipping will be a few hundred, i guess? And wont be as good, but a couple of hundred, vs a couple of thousand?
If i go for it, whats the best way to prep it? I mean, obviously the outside can be cleaned, but the inside? Its not been treated in years, and ive spent quite a number of sessions pressure washing the inside, but its never going to be clean inside. I feel that it will always be a bit of a bodge, but, again, £200 or so vs £2000 or so!
I know people do dip old units, so, if i consider that its not entirely pointless, whats the best method to go about it?
And, yes, to be clear, its purely a cost thing. I understand that other people may have a couple of grand knocking about, but please dont assume i do. People have different value systems, and, whilst i could spend £2.5k, id rather drop £2.5k on the mortgage, or next months electricity bill, or something like that.
Thank you.
