Last week I brought a spare SAFT 6v 100Ah flooded NiCad battery home from my lockup on the bus. It is for my Citroen Berlingo 500E "Electrique" van, which uses 27 of them. As I got off the bus I noticed it had left a puddle on the floor. It's not acid, only 30% potassium hydroxide....Bought a new Halford's Calcium battery today. Got to the counter only to find that it had leaked acid which had soaked my coat and jeans
So have I.The way modern batteries fail, they can appear OK then without warning you're in a dead battery situation - and that'll be the time when there's no helpful soul around.
I've had it happen.
i carry one of Banggood's finest starter packs and have had to use it, in fact I used it on a neighbour's car on Friday. Started first turn of the key.![]()
They need what we used to build a 30 yrs ago - battery washers. Built a few for washing batteries as they were filled - all sorts of rinses, brushes, drying fans, having to adjust to any and all battery sizes being chucked through it.Bought a new Halford's Calcium battery today. The manager found me a better one. I do hope that it is...
