Apoarently all sea ports round here have a rum associated with them. In Lerwick port it's some stuff called Crackhen. Never see it before, don't know where it's made but it's bloody good

Daylight is fairly minimal, it's dark when I leave hotel at 7 and dark again by around 3. Weather has been so bad I haven't realy chanced driving around, but have seen a few Islands on previous trips. Best thing is at the top of the main land where Atlantic Ocean and North we meet, waves coming in from two different directions!!

Only been in June for The Simmer Dim (bike rally) so get the very best of the weather. I'd move there in a blink, but I wouldn't be able to handle the long winter nights

I can see where your comming from with the roads. Considering all the harsh weather Tarmac is awesome condition with absolutely no pot holes. I've got a hire 4x4 and if I had big enough kahonas I'd test it out properly !!!!!

I dont know nothing about bikes or the speed triple but Tarmac here is looking like t's been laid by angels and "smoother" than a baby's bottom. I'm sure you will have fun !!!
