I suspect it was not one of the smaller fireworks kids get in boxes.

There is an idiot down the road from me who must spend the price of a house on display fireworks each year, some of the rockets feel what it must have been like in the trenches in WW2, even when they explode at a couple of hundred feet the blast is felt at ground level.

If it was similar to one of those that killed him I suspect it would have been like having a bomb on his head.

Amazing that fireworks have only been legal in Maine for ten years! I mean its an amazing place to shop for firearms and such. Fact is when we have had a few we can all do dumb stuff after a few hence never mix doing potentially dangerous stuff with booze, this guy paid with his life messing around pretending he was going to or actually trying it for real its not something a sober person might do.
I actually don't like just anyone being able to mess with these things, its like having a two day period when anyone can drive a car on the road licenced , trained or otherwise.

They will have to put a warning on boxes now telling people not to put fireworks on their heads and light them. Those mortar tubes should only be available to professional display organisers they pack some real power.

Yep I've worked in the Pyrotechnic industry in the past ,one gig we did in Cardiff we had the finale rigged on a concrete roof in the towncentre I had to stand the pots on double thickness sheets of 3/4 ply to protect the roof .....jeff...

they likely will but in reality the best move in all areas is to only sell them to people with the correct licence who need to keep their noses clean to retain it
