Bleedin hell, I had a hole saw for a tumble drier vent catch once, was very painful for a while after and the bruising lasted ages.

I bought a Bosch 168mm hole saw, stuck it in a cabled power drill it tried to hurt my wrist.

A good 15 years ago I upgraded my previous home from single phase to three phase they sent two guys round with an industrial corded Makita to drill through an 80 cm wall, at some point it bit, the bloke did a 180° turn, ended up on the floor.

Granite ones look good. I've had people come up to me on site asking to take them home for garden features. They always get the same reply - help yourself

BTW I've seen the above done plenty of times. Saw a guy attempt it with a 50mm bit cutting dry on a 3kw motor balanced on his shoulder. Only trouble was the blocks were damp. It went in about an inch, jammed up and battered his ear to bits.

Yes, you can see he's drilled in about 4" then re-started. Happens a lot over windows & doors when you get part way through a wall and realise you've hit a capping beam, lintel or wall plate etc.
