Why did i forget? Company i went with was GJW insurance they do marine insurance for yachts & also do boatyard insurance, everything from 3rd party upwards. Be aware that hot works ie burning off, gas torches, welding etc will shove you into a different league, GRP laminating will also make premiums rise.
The proposal form is well thick but most of it a guy like can just put "Not applicable".
Thats one thing i will get away with is the hot works part. If i get a lot of GRP work on i will have to add that to the policy, although it will only be small path repairs, still it will have to be notified to them.
I pay over 2 Grand a year for 5 million...roofing with a hot permit, goes up every year even though ive never claimed (thank god)![]()
As above, no hot works thank god if thats what it does.
I did chuckle with a few calls, they went throught he term and questions etc etc for 10 mins and they knew i was working on boats.
Then they asked ` will i be doing any underpinning or structural work ` i joked with one who didnt click on when i said ` i wont be fitting oil rigs just inshore boats`
