Things to align panels when butt welding...

... ok sorry for the poor title, but thats the difficulty in finding things when you dont know what theyre called

i''m looking for the things that are used when butting two panels together. ive seen these things that essentially fit between the edges of the two panels.

a doodle is atached, hopefully it makes sense, the panels are the red bits

anyone know the names, types of thing im meaning?

... and the blue thing should be tightened so there are no gaps above and below, i.e. the two red panels are the same 'height'

few people on here have made them. Bit of box, slit in one side, hole on the other then a bit of threaded bar tacked to some thin sheet, pin through it and job done.

Just knock some up from scrap stuff and save yourself a few bob. Here`s my attempt, nothing too posh but functional.

I made the same but my plate to sit between the two panels wasn't as neat as that. Though I used wing nuts instead of normal nuts, far easier to tighten up, no need for a spanner that way.
