Used to love them as a kid, shouting “power cut!!…, mum, get the candles out” was always fun.![]()
I too @Wozzaaah look back fondly also to the power cuts of 1973/74 - being about seven at the time - it was all an adventure. I can remmeber candles - tilley lamps and best of all - jacket spuds (dripping in butter) cooked in tin foil in the ash pan of the fire. Gotta love my Mother - none of us went cold or hungry!
