loverly,exactly the same , mum was the daughter of a market gardener , where as..I planted some bulbs along the bank of my field , marked the spot by ripping a piece of laurel of and jamming it in the dirt , yes you geussed it , no sign from the bulbs but the laurel grew fine ! I better stop now as so far of topic (for a change)

Ive had my 'shed' demolished before levelling the hard and building a new one.
A truly tragic structure not even worth calling a building
a few examples
The 'Lintel' over the door.
They had poured mortar into some sort of mould with some stuff inside it. Including bits of wood

There was a pillar keyed into the old wall so they butted the end wall up against the old wall.

That's a prime example of the local to you skilled Welsh builders & tradesmen , I had the misfortune to employ the same Swansea Jacks

Get the yard levelled, open up the gate way and bring the motorbike home and see what I ned for the bike and workspace. I reckon I can fit in 8x10ft . it s working out access etc

UP to 28 sq mtrs externally and no planning needed , check the height too think the apex can'rt be more than 2.8 mtrs foot the base of the soil . I'm looking to put up two 6x4 mtr fibreglass units 1,5 mtrs apart each unit bespoke made locally by a company who makes commercial enclosures for transformers & power equipment on holiday camps, caravan sites /parks & MOD etc.

Prices were very good too door & or windows where you want door size up to 8 foot across two doors free delivery & errection locally Ammanford /Caerbryn , you cast the base six inches bigger then the external size

A woman might tell you “ Size isnt important, its how you use it”. But with sheds bugger is always better!

SO , is that why you need a big vice in your shed , to grip both hands to stop escapes .

We are on the side of a steep hill.
So he'd excavated into the soil/clay? Stuff? And added a basement.
I have seen a small car in the top storey.

Yep can remember that sort of shed towards the round house school, when I lived in Campbell st, was my chose to walk up Constitution hill or Mount pleasant. Gramp was ex Navy so believed in exercise.
He had an allotment and aviary on North hill road I think it was, road opp Farmers arms.

family moved to Reading I was sent back because mother thought Reading was going to be bombed worse than Swansea, "big mistake".
I can remember the devastation, smoke, being in air raid shelters, shops and buildings not there, would walk up Constitution hill or Mount pleasant, look back and see the smoking gaps.
Reading on the other hand only had a small amount of damage compared
Gramp being ex navy (subs in ww1) said it would do me good to have gentle walks.

That was interesting, I can even recognise some of the older footage.
And now they are tearing down a lot of the post war buildings , some which need and some that could perhaps be refurbed.
its sad how much of the old city was destroyed and surprising that so many isolated buildings are standing between the newer bits rather than being torn down.
ive been here nine years and absolutely love it here

We bought a terraced house in sussex built on a slope, and in the rear garden behind the wooden garage up the slope we were clearing years of overgrowth out, and found a pair of rear doors hidden by it.
The previous owner had excavated into the slope and pushed the shell from a thames van into the hole and backfilled around the edges. Inside were cut up old matress quarters and some chains connected to stakes. I hope it was a impromtu dog shed and not a murder cavern and the old dear who lived next door told us he used to keep dogs in the back garden. We filled it with rubble and tried not to think more about it.

I was considering doing the same with a transit here to make a small garden tool shed for a low section of the garden, but they rot out and become a collapsing hazard the same as buried containers. Not that is any suprising state for a transit
