Is it deliberate to get you to use the stealers tho? I agree with the above, more likely designed for the most efficient/cheapest assembly, with sod all consideration for once it's been driven off the forecourt
We build the engine/transmission onto the subframes on one track while the bodyshell is trimmed out on another then the 2 come together in what we call the marriage station where the engine/transmission etc is lifted up to the body and secured with about a dozen electric bolt drivers. It's quite impressive to watch as all the suspension etc is automatically guided into bodyshell.
