I can imagine but that's why I'm considering using one for work, that way I can tinker in the workshop when she thinks I'll be out grafting!!
Have you driven a Series or Defender? They are an acquired taste. I actually enjoy driving the 88 - if it wasn't so thirsty I would prefer to drive it to our normal car - distance driving, the whole 9 yards. The Landy actually puts a smile on my face. The ride can be harsh, it lets rain, snow and wind in left right and centre, it doesn't go fast, has the turning circle of a barge and you need three weeks notice, in writing, to come to a stop.
I have had a V8 Defender in the past which had more comfy seats and went a bit faster but pretty much all of the above applied.
Saying that, of all the cars I've owned, the Landy has been the most reliable and the easiest to work with/on.
