The search for missing items!

I've lost the lights in my garage.

On the one hand it makes things look so much tidier

In reality if I want to find anything I have to don a head torch and take my life in my hands. Occasionally I'll bump into something & hear an avalanche of crap as a box of something slides off one of the car bonnets onto the floor and spills it's contents.

I think the garage wiring is the reason my single, up front RCD in the house keeps tripping but then I've only properly dead tested I think 4 out of 9 circuits. Need to man up and get out in the cold and sort it.

It is a cram packed ****hole in there tbh.

Went in with the usual stuff about 4 weeks ago, not seen it since, turned the airing cupboard upside down, checked the washing machine which I recently stripped to bits, behind the rads, in the cupboard, back of the sock drawer, inside the sleeves and legs of stuff that went in the same time........will probably turn up on antiques roadshow in the year 2223

I spent AGES looking for my brake pipe flaring tool once. Only a cheapo thing, in a little blue plastic case. I kept on returning to the same cupboard and staring in, and each time I saw (and dismissed) a red plastic case. Each time I saw the case, I wondered what was in it, and eventually I decided to open it up and see. It was ANOTHER pipe flaring tool, (that I didnt't even know I owned) that was EMINENTLY more suitable for the job I was doing. To this day I have no clue where the one on the blue box is hiding!

Would that be Carport tunnel syndrome?

I think Shed Space and Carport Tunnel Syndrome must have some sort of relationship
but if they are interlinked or mutually exclusive I really don't know.

Could you loose something in your Carport and we'll see if it turns up in my shed ?

Lost my really strong magnet - out of an old pc hard-drive - was using it welding my truck inner wheelarch 2 weeks ago.... finished & re-filed everything (!) then went to get it yesterday - nowhere to be found !

Pretty sure it's not stuck to my truck.... But it could be stuck to anything else round here !

I lost a whole telescopic sight attached to a rail somewhere between the workshop and my (connected) office, that was six months ago, still cannot find it :-(

Grub screws from Starrett cutters is my frequent loss item.

Loads of both size arbors with no screws.

A mate of mine summed it up perfectly. When I told him about the lovely 1000kg Tann bankers safe I had recently acquired I said to him "knowing my luck I will lose the key" He replied with "Knowing you it's the safe that will go missing" Sadly he was right. Think Indiana Jones in that huge warehouse.
I have managed to lose the vertical head from my Elliott Sturdimill along with the horizontal attachment as well. Considering the vertical head weighs around 100kg that takes some doing !
I recently found a smart and Brown model A lathe in my warehouse that I had forgotten about

I finally found my lathe spindle nose copy (after about 3 months of looking), so I can now get a round to the back plate. Turned out it was in the draw it was supposed to be in , just hadn't marked the front of the draw

Not so.much as loosing items more about finding items I can't remember buying. Lol

Lent my neighbour my much-used Dewalt reciprocating saw, and she had a grand old time running round her garden attacking errant shrubs, bushes and trees.

Then a few weeks later I found a totally unused Aldi recip saw in the garage that I don't even remember buying! I gave it to the neighbour and I don't think I've even seen anyone happier

we always loose wire brushes amongst other things, soI bought two boxes of 24 for buttons at a boot sale you can read my mind cant fine the boxes!
