Just smooth it out and underseal it up to the trim and round the wheel arch!

I did think of doing this but as I am sticking with this vehicle for as long as possible I am going to have a go at fixing it properly. I can get it into the fab shop and work on it there, inside out of the weather so I am going to have a go at doing it "properly". Right now I need two tyres for it :-( It never ends does it, doesn't matter how old the vehicle is they are a constant drain.

Constant drain yes, but far better than walking, or public transport!

If it's not perforated, you might find blasting it works pretty well. Skimmed and painted, done. Hopefully.

Ten minute job that, whaddya think guys. Repair panel readily available @£85-ish per side. Other side hasn't started to bubble yet. No signs of corrosion at all, it's all on this nearside.

Buy the repair panel, that's perforated for sure.

Here we go, see if you can spot why I ended up with a hell of a headache this afternoon. Three Guinness at the pub this evening and I'm feeling much better.

Cut out a section of the repair part and fetled to fit.

Tacked in place but it was blowing through at the top.

So cut out another section.

Welded up.

Ground down.

Prepping for epoxy.

Didn't bother with my air fed mask.....

Went on a bit thick and got runs, but no problem as filler will go on tomorrow.

500w light to cure.

Was delayed this morning as I woke up with a rash that's turned out to be shingles! Right on one butt cheek. What a PITA!

Called NHS 111 and got cut off so went direct to a pharmacy, no point trying to talk to a GP. Walked in, got an examination, 5 mins later walked out with the anti viral drugs.

Back to the garage. Some upol fantastic.

Sanded, then some dolphin glaze.

And then another coat of epoxy. Should have done a guide coat instead as it showed up lots of areas that still need sanding. Good job I'm in no rush.

Next I de-rusted the internal panel.

Took off the surface rust in 5 minutes.

And got that painted with epoxy too.

Today, a bit more filler.

Spot primer on the cut throughs.

A coat of high build.

Gravitex (I'd run out of my rubberised stuff) on the return.

Then onto the internal panel that closes off this area.

Glued it in place with tiger seal.

Just a final sand then base coat and clear to go.

Looking back on the pics it looks like I needed a bigger blend area.

Good job this isn't anyone's pride and joy.

And today after a bit of sanding with 3000 and polish. Turned out better than expected. I really should have repainted the entire wing but was running low on base coat and clear.
