Sorry don't agree Snowcat. I'd had multimillion pound companies take contracts out with a business I ran as a sole trader for the most part out of a personal account. They will know far more about you, then you they, to care about what your bank account is called.

I've been with Lloyds Tsb business banking for 2 years..

The first 18 months were free, no charges..

Now its approx £8 a month in charges..

And in the branch is a dedicated business banking kiosk, so no big queues

there is no right bank, they are all a bunch of robbing b*****ds that want to take your money off you, they are not "there to help" or any such bull, they are there to make money out of you..... anything they do or offer is just to try to make them more money off your back

So any will do, personally I would have a local bank as it makes paying in simpler.... local to home or work, or on the way.. whatever works for you

I opened a "personal" account that is solely used for work..... everything goes into that acc, everything gets paid out of that acc...... so keeps personal finance & other stuff out of the "buisiness" acc. ( so when I put in £50 that I had for my birthday the accountant/tax barstuard does not ask stupid questions that I cannot answer 5 years later) I "pay" myself out of the acc into MY acc....

linked to that is a deposit acc for tax, vat etc.

if the bank asks why the new acc... you want to seperate your finances... this is your acc not the wifes

when they start charging or messing you about... move all your acc to a new bank
