well.. it had to be done at some point i guess..
i`d been wanting 1 of these for a long while now (much to my partners disgust) and have had `V8 block` saved in ebay searches for years and other than a few boat anchors (rover v8) and some massively overpriced italian exotica not much had come along....
then.. by a strange turn of fate i got lucky:
i wont lie... i got very very very lucky.. what we have here is a genuine ex lemans 24h used and abused Aston Martin V12...
i already have a glass top from an old coffee table and the plan is to have a nice beech base made up by a local carpenter (approx 1200x450x40mm (when i spoke to him he mentioned making it up out of 3 hefty boards fixed together) with a small bevelled edge top and bottom..
4 mirror polished stainless tubes 40 or 50mm diameter and tall enough to clear the top of the block by 75mm or so.. whatever looks visually "right"
i`m keen to keep everything as low to the floor as possible and a quick google found these:
http://www.comptools.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=15_155_15511&product_id=14728
which should limit the amount of toys/crap our 2year old son can fire under it...
sooo errr.. thats where i`m up to.. will try to keep progress quick but with the aforementioned 2 year old finances seem to get sidetracked quickly on other things..
cheers
