I was actually going to make my own tacho unit for my lathe. In the end the Chinese unit did everything I wanted it to do. The great thing about these small electronic modules you can get these days is that you can add fairly sophisticated functionality in short order. Unlike the days of designing, building, testing and debugging your own circuitry.I think all the Chinese ones are based on the same or very similar chip and programming. For sure, they have no options for adjustment. I think if you want to tune it, you might need to look for 'adjustable timebase tachometer'. This one comes up the most:
Whether its price uplift is worth the extra functionality, I do not know. Maybe the right search term on AliBang will find something similar.
Are you going to spend a year rebuilding your shop too? I do like the vice, you will be a star this side of the pond with that Looking forward to the next vid!It has come to my attention after watching a certain highly successful machining channel from across the pond that the inclusion of cute furry rodents in your content can garner a higher subscription count.
So here we go.

That's not even my "Nice vice" which is my swindens, to be mounted to the aforementioned new workbench. And yes, I'm going to spend a year rebuilding until I have a shop the size of an airship hangar, then fill it with machinery the size of which would not look out of place in a shipyard machine shop. Are you going to spend a year rebuilding your shop too? Thats the saw I gave to @Jacktegla to get him going, made the vid to show it working.I think he has done a bit of a resto thread on it somewhere on here.I've a very similar slow chop saw to @8ob .
I have done a resto on it and looks great but I got an amazing deal on a very large saw which I could say no to, only 200 squidsThats the saw I gave to @Jacktegla to get him going, made the vid to show it working.I think he has done a bit of a resto thread on it somewhere on here.
