I've had an original leatherman nearly 25 years, worn out 2 leather cases so far!, got quite a collection of sheath knives from my scouting days, are scouts allowed to carry a knife these days?

they obviously had info on him, knew what was alledged and needed to get hold of him.
i use the crb system and you would be surprised at what some people have done. and there are others that you can see from the paperwork are guilty but lack of firm evidence lets them get away with their crimes

I've carried a knife ever since my father gave me my first, around the age of 6. Like Drains it's as important to me as my mobile and keys.
My favourite is my Swiss Army. Next my SOG, I also have an Opinel that I take if I think I may lose it as they are very cheap to replace. Although I have only lost one when I was around 12, so I've had this one 34yrs
They also have a very very good blade keeping an edge for what seems an age.
My first knife was from The Whitby Knife Company, a little locking rose handle, that I still have, though I don't use it. My mother bought my first Swiss Army to replace the Opinel I lost, and I still have that too, although the scissors long ago broke. I've had 2 since then, the scissors used for cutting my nails always break.
I did buy a Leather man but didn't like it, so sold it, though I do still have the really small version. I also have a Gerber ??? Goes with me one trips, good but heavy for everyday use.
The scissors are next to useless as well
Talking of Knives I've got 4 3' circular saw blades of suitable age for good quality steel, to make some knives when I get around to it

on my front door key iv got my mag lite solitaire and a mini leatherman, also gots its bigger brother, sits under my saddle of my mtb with a cycle multi tool, saved me on many a ride out in the middle of no where!
If someone was to try and rob me at the cash point, id be more concerned for there safety as for 9 years iv had my blackbelt in kung fu and would use it to full effect rather than a knife, id want to break something rather than stain my clothes
An old neighbour showed me how to sharpen cut down hacksaw blades on a bench grinder, there sharper than a scalpel now!!

no not lucky at all i just read the thread in its entirety before posting 
Had a Leatherman for years, used it a few times camping. I'd imagined it might be handy as a (motor)bike tool to carry about, but found it a bit of a toy all in all, don't miss it having lost it somewhere.
I've got a German hunting (? big b*sta*rd anyway) knife I've had since I was 14 (similar time ago to Shox), comes in useful once in a while.
My Dad has a knife which my Grandad took from an Indian bandit during the war; some were shooting at my Grandads group, which due to the Gurkhas didn't work out particularly well for the bandits...
The knife has a decorated ivory handle, brass, copper & silver parts and an inlaid and decorated blade. The blade hinges and tucks into the handle, kind of a springless flick knife type thing. It's a thing of beauty.
