I did omit to say that I am ex army, and I cannot stand waffling on around a subject,when I started my second career after the army, meetings/briefings/and the 1day training courses used to drive me nuts.I would take so much and then come out with something like "are we/you going to get to the point/decision sometime this year-preferably today- because I am about to take my own life if you/we don't".
In short, I click on the bleedin like button when I like something.

It depends how you see like being used. I use it if I want to endorse a comment but without going over board and writing another review on the item in question. etc

I would disagree on the basis its way to easy to just click a button rather than engage in a sensible online conversation. I very rarely click the Like button myself,

Lets put it like this there are many times since the mods companied to me about promoting R-Tech products even though I pay the same retail price as everyone else. , but there are many tmes I have used like so it is up to the OP to ask me questions IF THEY CHOSE. I dont mention other products I dont have and I certainly dont slag them off but I realise the forums started of with other companies/users/buyers on it.

So therefore I try to use the like button instead of incurring the wrath of moderators.

Not bribed but obviously the mods dont want people with direct connections to companies on the forum giving false/biased information about products.

I think (which i why I said its difficult to explain) a number of companies have or had financial support into the forum. How that ties in with donations by members clouds the bigger picture. Suffice to say I was happy with what was said to me by the mods. I made my OWN decision which way I would advice people who asked etc. One of these is by use of the like button so if they need extra info they can PM me etc.

It would be of no use as

1. I have no connection with R-tech other than I have had 3 of their machines of which i paid the same price available to any member of the public.

2. I have no money......

That does seem strange, I see certain members constantly promoting certain suppliers - Stacey processing springs to mind. I don't know what r tech is, I assume it's a welder of which I am not. If i have a piece of kit which fits someone's needs and budget I don't hesitate to recommend. I don't approve of site sponsors neither. I don't know the full story or the background but it does seem strange a mod contacting you especially if you have no affiliation. We have loads of machine mart fan boys on here constantly recommending Clarke products. Must be more to this than meets the eye? Same with Halfords stuff which really confuses me as most people wouldn't touch the stuff but loads of threads recommending it for some reason. If i want a magic tree, go to Halfords, but tools

yes I realise that but,
I think what I was trying to say was,
as we have the quote /reply option we could have a like option ie quote/reply/like it would be a quick way of agreeing with a particular part or actually all the text.
Because I am a one finger typerist and not good at engrish it would be a quicker way FOR ME to answer/ agree.
