There is an implant that was on a TV doc that negates it in extreme cases.Mine is just a low like background hiss very much like the noise from a LOPT in the old tv sets.My tinnitus started when I was about 17, around about the time I got into loud rock music....
Ten + years of roaring around on bikes, with no ear plugs, 80mph wind rush, sealed the deal. I have it constantly 24/7 now, nothing helps.
I spent years sleeping with a fan going next to my bed, or some quiet light music, the background noise regulated the tinnitus. In total silence it just seemed to get louder and louder until it was a deafening roar.
I often see 'cures' advertised on Facebook, with loads of glowing replies, all by people with a western profile.....yet just a dozen Arab or Asian friends....
Think it's the relaxation bit that did it. It's the inevitable de-hydration afterwards that's the issue. Or at least for me it is.Last night I tested later on, after just a couple of beers, 125/73
So, beer is the cure, not the cause.
Only four cans last night, the least I have drunk in one evening for well over a year.
Mine sounds like someone moving several tuning forks around my head, with a swarm of Starlings twittering madly in the background. There is an implant that was on a TV doc that negates it in extreme cases.Mine is just a low like background hiss very much like the noise from a LOPT in the old tv sets.
I've seen a GP several times over the last 40+ years, all they do is send me to the hearing clinic, who test my ears, then tell me I've lost a lot of the mid range.....I always thought that in my case I could have claimed compensation from employer. But how do you prove tinnitus?![]()
I haven't been prescribed diuretics yet - probably will be next week, ankles/feet swollen after Amlodipine up'ed from 5mg to 10mg.I'm on 1 x 5mg/d Ramipril was on 2 x 5mg/d. Dizziness? .... probably the diurectics lowering your blood pressure or that was my issue. My tinnitus is due to either the lunatic in Zambia who fired a 'pig' and ammonia cloud out of 24" pipe or long time use of malaria meds. Plus having to wear earplugs and earmuffs sometimes?
I think the gamet of meds I'm on will be pretty bog standard for heart failure i.e, Ramipril, Spiractin, Furosemide and aspirin?

Yes, but what about the tinnitus, the actual reason I'm here??
Nada, no cure, nothing is available.
I maybe totally wrong and am prepared to be corrected...but....When they test tinnitus they use a frequency generated scan to try to pinpoint it? The gizmo generates an anti-phase to negate it. Same principle for car stereo noise reduction?I've seen a GP several times over the last 40+ years, all they do is send me to the hearing clinic, who test my ears, then tell me I've lost a lot of the mid range.....

I've not been to see anybody for over a decade, so they could well have made advances.I maybe totally wrong and am prepared to be corrected...but....When they test tinnitus they use a frequency generated scan to try to pinpoint it? Wanna borrow my bikeI've not been to see anybody for over a decade, so they could well have made advances.
I've learned to live with it: 'I have tinnitus, tinnitus doesn't have me, it is part of me, I own it'. That was some mantra I learned from a guy on the internet years ago, who had a web page devoted to the topic, and surprisingly enough, it worked.
I can hear it above the wind and engine noise, riding my bike, with earplugs in, it's loud, its constant.
A common side effect of amlodipine is swollen ankles, better off changing the medication.I haven't been prescribed diuretics yet - probably will be next week, ankles/feet swollen after Amlodipine up'ed from 5mg to 10mg.
I need to sort out my dizziness in the morning's as when my consultant will let me drive again in 2 months, my meds. will stop me.
Think most of us old timers who rode motorcycles and have spent years in heavy engineering noisy environments before safe sex was invented suffer with at least a bit of this. Probably some of the rave folk too…..You are experiencing the classic 4Khz dip, this is the frequency we communicate at
The 4Khz dip is an excellent indicator of noise induced hearing loss
Age related hearing loss, or presbycusis is a reduction in attenuation at all frequencies across the spectrum
I’m in the rave crowd …Think most of us old timers who rode motorcycles and have spent years in heavy engineering noisy environments before safe sex was invented suffer with at least a bit of this. Probably some of the rave folk too…..
Amlodipine gave me palps and i was tired all the timeA common side effect of amlodipine is swollen ankles, better off changing the medication.
It's possible that you may not have to suffer with it. Might be worth finding out. Mine I just ignore and then don't notice. Just there's no complete silence any more.I've not been to see anybody for over a decade, so they could well have made advances.

It would probably mean wearing some sort of hearing aid device, an effective 'cure', so I may do research as I have trouble watching movies were everybody seems to mumble all the time. Or those annoying movies/shows where they play background music that drowns out the voices. It's possible that you may not have to suffer with it. Might be worth finding out. He talks a lot of sense (in that what he's saying lines up completely with what I've found).I've totally changed my diet since Christmas to hopefully improve my long term health, hope it works out.
I started watching this guy.
