What narks me is the difference in size between a product and its packaging. I bought an Asda cheesecake and it turned out to be about the size of a biscuit.

I reckon it's inflation control..chocolate bars etc all getting smaller no price change..magic, no inflation...lol, I noticed today that even Etch a Sketch are smaller more than when I had mine in the '60's...

In part, the trick seems to be to keep on reducing the size whilst maintaining the price and then bring out a bigger version at a bigger price and then start making it smaller. Walkers crisps seem to be the masters at it.

I have often felt scammed with oil drums because sometimes you can't get every last drop out. You know perfectly well there's some stuck in the handle area recess but short of taking a knife to it there's no way of getting it to the hole.
Given the stuff is usually so darn, cripplingly expensive in the first place I want the full 20/25 litres not 19.5 or 24.5.

And yes, 4ltr does feel a ripoff. 4.5 I'll tolerate as it's almost 4.54 which is a gallon but dropping to four feels like you're being bent over.

On the bright side, at least the 205 litre drum seems sacrosanct.

I've seen it for years, first was 25, then 24, then 23, then 22, 21 and seems to have settled on 20.
and of course all this time the price kept going up, a scam, nothing else but greed.

This it true for water but not other liquids.

So it looks more like the great H&S swindle, I'm not surprised, although those 1CWT bags of cement where a ******.

As a scrawny 15 year old I worked in the garden centre of a local DIY place (before B&Q ruled the world) where we also had the sharp sand, gravel etc. used to desecrate council house gardens.
It was dumped in big heaps and I'd have to bag it up for the customers and load into their cars; you'd start off with the grip of Steve Austin but by the time you'd spent the day hoying a dozen 1cwt sacks into assorted punters' Marina estates you didn't have the strength to pull your plodge

My BMW needs around 6.5litres of oil so instead of buying 2x5litre jars I just get a 25 litre drum and it does a few oil changes and top ups if required.
The lad in the Motorfactors tried to sell me their preferred brand in a big drum for £44 instead of my usual flavour of oil which was £68.
He nearly had me until I seen it had 5litres less.

Now, it was still cheaper but not by enough to sway me from what id normally use.
