Hi all, Ive just found this site. My dog ate through the hose assembly about1foot out of the welder I wonder if you can help with a few questions 1/ Can I shorten the hose and remake the connections 2/Can I buy a new hose (where from) 3/ Should I cut my losses and buy a new welder 4/ How high shall I kick the dog (SIP Migmate130) Johnboy

Are you sure it wasn't sabbotage by the missus to keep you out of the garage?!
No, you cannot shorten it (without major surgery cutting through the power cable & resulting loss in power), yes, you can buy replacement torches but how old is the machine? A full new lead will cost you 50 quid (ish) & if it's an old machine it may be worth replaceing with a new un.

Thanks for the info Weldequip Ill probably get a new one.Insurance is a good idea rtbcomp,Ill check my policy to see if it covers "attack by wild animals".It is a rotty with a taste for cables.So far she has gone through my extension lead,worklight,phone charger,battery charger and now the welder.If she goes through a live one that should solve my problems johnboy
