Has anyone ever made one of the range of Tools, from the books that Dave Gingery has out ? He starts at 'build a charcoal foundry' then goes on to 'build your own lathe' (from cast alluminium for the most part) Now his books are very popular with testimonials all over the place, so they probably do work, with an amount on ingenuity and hard work. But has anyone here ever made any of his stuff ? I was thinking of starting at the Charcoal foundry and seeing how it went. I have the books as .pdf files.

PS: he has plans for an 'alcohol 'still' as well. i have a couple of gallon of orange wine (ugh) and some red stuff thats been in the spare room for 20 years, must have turned to port by now, so its time to distill it methinks ?
ps: i can mail anyone the books in .pdf format if anyone wants them.
