The Daddy of all Squares

Anyone got a Big square to equal this??

Now thats one serious big square its about 3ft tall

Very handy for sqaring up frames, and Structual Steel

I've put a tin of Tip Dip next to it so you can judge just how big this daddy is

Gets to a point where they become a bit impractical.... that looks a bit too big.
24" I think is the biggest I use.

I used to build horse boxes on a farm and the farmer had one just like it. Was great for some things but awkward for others

Handy for jobs like this when people want tight tolerances on great big sections that can be miles out of square/gauge

Wow, thats expensive even back then. I got it off ebay for something like £120-00
It was still calibrated when we got it. It lives in a nice wooden box.

I have a paxolin one at 1100 on the long leg. For glass cutting ( used to be attached to a poster gallery) still use it for lots of stuff. It is adjustable, so one checks it frequently and 'fettles'

Oh yes, got 3 roofers squares too. More used than the 'big one'

Strange about Chris deB, huge in europe, unknown (nearly) in UK. Bit like James Blunt, related to my sculpture client. They were in that recent prog on him. UK thinks he is a bit naff, rest of europe can't get enough.

Question of taste, suppos. Maybe EU is bit lacking
