10 Spline was notoriously weak, 23 spline is better, but was still weak compared to the Jap axles.There was an article in one of the Land Rover Magazines back in the 80's about some one doing this conversion and one of the problems was it kept snapping halfshafts.

Was that the one a French photographer owns? we used to look after a 6 cylinder 109 with safari roof. it always had 12 plys on it.I saw a 109 kitted out for desert work (I had to change the 12 ply tyres on a manual tyre changer, well, tried and failed) so I reckon that this thing has been all over Africa or somewhere similar.
So I wasn't the only one with a 383 in a landy.In the late 70's I worked at a small fabrication shop in the village where I lived. Occasionally a delivery guy came in to pick up jobs and he had a Chrysler big block powered series Landrover that looked remarkably like this one.
I've not had a chance to watch the video yet so it will be interesting to hear what he has to say about it.
