IMO, refurbishment would require more than a restoration.

LOL. Well I don't really mind, actually I'm wishing I hadn't started it tbh. Anyhow, in my mind a restoration is a process which involves an element of repair in order to return an item as closely as possible to it's original condition. A refurbishment is more specifically regarding a cosmetic makeover and less about making any repairs.
I should have stuck with "redecorate" which is closer to what happened here...![]()
I tend to class them the other way round.
Going by definition, refurbishment is more geared towards returning to original. Restoration is more just working functionality upwards. The two words/terms are interpreted differently by everyone though.
