Hi everyone.
I'm new to welding and I have to make a chair frame. I'm using 5/8" o/d ERW mild steel tubing, which I've normalized, couple of bends in a hydrualic bender, then joined using 90 degree 'birds mouth' joins (sounds like I know what I'm talking about, but I don't!).
Had a practice, but i can't get a nice weld- there's so much of it building up around the joint. Any practical advice appreciated.

, anyway, Basics, How clean is the metal?, has to be clean otherwise no penetration, also if getting large build welds, thats to do with speed you are welding at, too slow, lge build, also settings, wire feed too fast, all depends on what welder you are using, stick, Mig?, need to know b4 anyone can give practical advice. Practice on scrap that is of same dimensions etc, until you get that nice weld, remembering heat, too much at once and it will pull out of shape. when you inform us of what welder you are using, then the good advice will flow.
