Tempered glass mobile phone screen protectors

New phone today, my work phone is so badly cracked i can hardly see the screen anymore.

I've always used the stick on films to protect them, but what are the tempered glass screen protectors like...can they be easily taken off and changed when they get scratched?

They are superb. Easy to fit, very clear, responsive to touch and they don't scratch up like the softer plastic ones.

Yep they're great. Just make sure that you put them on straight in the first place or else they can be awkward to remove again. Feel much better than the plastic ones and if you get them placed correctly they almost disappear. What phone is it you're getting? On some phones that have glass with curved edges, they won't attach correctly and end up with a sort of halo type effect around the edges which is annoying.

I have a Lumia 650.

So they come off again easily enough then?

I've only ever taken them off to replace them and they do tend to crack, but they come off easily enough just by prying them up with a thin blade. They should work with your phone fine.

put them on the oldest daughters ipod, works fine, she's on her second screen now, they still crack, but seem to protect teh ipod well enough. bugger to get on without bubbles though, you really only get one go at it.

Wife is on her third with this phone and each time the protector has saved the screen. Absolutely worth the money. Usually they crack and smash if you try to take them off (glass of course lol), don't scratch really and just pretty good

nice thread here paul been wondering about these screen protectors myself ever since i broke my blackberry touch screen to say its the only screen ive ever broke up till now

may now get a few to protect the screens on the touch screen phones

I fitted one on my 4S and it is really nice to use. It was only £1 and it is oleophobic, feels nice and it is chipped where I dropped my phone but the screen under it is still intact. I will replace it because it isfun to watch the adhesive spread itself out when you tap the screen to fit it.

Interesting replies. My new phone I fitted one one was a waste of time. They agreed it was a dodgy batch and refunded me. I tried another brand this time it just kept coming off.

So my experience is not good. But I have an S7 edge.

I keep my note 3 to use at night like now when I am in bed with blue tooth headphones one........if I stay up I keep eating and drinking. Lol

I had one in my iPhone 5, and was very pleased with it but after about 6 weeks it started to lift off in one corner, dirt and fluff got under the edge it and it cracked eventually. It was £15 and I wasn't too pleased but if it had stayed stuck down it never would've broken.

They are fantastic...had one on my lumia and never had a problem with it...

Didn't bother getting one for the iPhone and in on my 3rd screen In a year (and this one is broke too)...this thread has reminded me to order a protector with the next screen

Problem with the edge is its all too easy to lift the protector and then it's game over. In my case it appeared to be a choice between screen protection of case protection as the case seemed to lift the protector.. same manufacturer as well.

Just take great care when fitting, I touched the bottom corner of mine when locating it on the phone, left a very small area on which I'd removed the adhesive and now doesn't stick.

My carelessness really, the rest is crystal clear......

the only way my phones survive is by using an Otterbox defender case, use one on my ipad as well, they protect what to me is an expensive item that I want to have with me all day and don't want to look after too carefully.

It might be worth you looking at them.

Iphone 5c, the glass protector (thickest I could find at 0.33mm) has never peeled off or anything silly, I'm very pleased with it. Been on months.
But do be anal about getting the phone completely clean with the alcohol wipes and not to touch the surface of the protector, I'm sure a fingerprint would mess it up.
And try to get it sat square in the right place...

The one on my 4S has been on there over a year and is still crystal clear but I chipped the edge in a couple of places dropping it on the road getting out of the car. I just fitted one to my Kindle fire, £1.89 from ebay delivered well worth fitting but as above clean the screen well with the alcohol wipe and cleaning cloth and line up carefully. No bubbles in mine they just flowed into place with a tap in the centre of the screen.
