Telwin Telmig 150/1 Turbo Questions

a few new question from Norway regarding this welder, as I bought it used and didnt get a manual.

1. Is it supposed to have a fan? When I use it, its completely quiet, only thing you can hear is the feeding wheel.

2. How are the amp buttons rated? 1min-1max-2min-2max or 1min-2min-1max-2max?

3. When using a small non-refillable bottle I only heard a puff when pulling the trigger, not a constant flow of gas as I held it. COuld this be because of the bottle and regulator? I have bought a 20 liter\300bar tank with a proper regulator and will test it tomorrow. Guess ill find out

Uhm.....the picture seemed to get lost on it's way from Norway to the forum!
I think this is it:


It's 30 to 145 Amps, and yes it is fan cooled! But the fan will only kick in when the welder warms up it will not start right away.

The gasflow should be around 10 lpm (liter per minute) for indoor welding.

Ive been doing a few welds now, and I have yet to hear any fan kick in, but maybe I havent welded enough. I tried the 10 lpm setting and it seems to work good:

On most welders the fan comes on as soon as you power it up, to my knowledge not many use fan on demand, especially not cheaper ones like that.
Having said that, it could be an energy saving attempt so don't take my word for it.
It's worth a look inside the case to check the fan connectors aren't displaced. You can also use a voltmeter to check if the fan has a feed, if it does then you have a faulty fan.

Well, I did open it up, but didnt see any fans at all to be honest. At least not in the back near the vents.

Any other place it could be? Sounds like it would be very strange if it didnt have a fan at all.

If it's a 'turbo' then it has a fan.
It'll be in the other side to the wire reel, the one with the transformers etc in, at the back of the machine.

Yeah, you'd think so!
Tried to mail Telwin a couple of times to get them to send me the manual, but they dont respond. They even have a form on their website which you can request the manual... So much for italian efficiency, eh?

Anyone else have a pdf of the manual laying around, or know where I can get a hold of it?

I opened it again, and only the motor and the drive shaft was left, so someone has been inside and removed the fanblades. Manybe to quiet it, I dunno. Anyone know who might have these as spares? I cant be bothered to ask telwin, they dont return my mails...

Resurrecting this thread. I have the same machine.

I hope you found that a PC blower connected to a small 24v power supply can replace easily the orignal crappy fan? You may connect the wire motor to the 24 v to improve the welder performances.


My question concerns the same type of equipment.

Telwin / Becca Maxmig 150/1......it's sold under many brands: Telitalia, Clarke, Sealey, Sureweld, deca, becca, force, help me find all the other brands (I'm curious)

I am looking for the wiring diagram. Telwin was kind enough to return my email quickly. But my welder is too old and they no longer hold the manual.
It's a tricky set-up with only 5 wires on the pcb board instead of all the other diagram I found on the web. Although I was provided with the manual (dont ask me why the old man, Roger, kept this so long). But the very last page is partly destroyed. The diagram is at the very last page.....

oh and its a copy of other welders though its not a sealey or a clarke as its more crappy than them models
