How do you get kodi to play the likes of bbc itv etc.
I use mobdro on my phone but I can't get it to work through my kodi box (mxq)

I have freesat, love it. I got a Humax Foxsat HDR box years ago, and it's still going strong, but a couple of months ago I built a media server that runs TVheadend, and has 2 dual sat tuner cards ( 4 tuners total ), the way it works I can record at least 4 channels at once (and often more, last time I checked it was recording 6 programs at once) then we can watch on any phone/tablet connected to our wifi, and also have 2 raspberry pi's running Kodi that play back on the telly's.
Best of all there is no monthly subscription!!

I've no idea what you mean by "play ghetto" but how I watch bbc/itv is very simple, I have both a dual Sat card (freesat) and a terrestrial card (freeview) that receive OTA broadcasts, HTS Tvheadend is the backend software handles recording and streaming the programs to Kodi which is the frontend that allows me to watch programs.

try using a proxy serverThe bbc have blocked streaming in ireland, so i cannot use the bbc iplayer, but oddly the uktv one works fine on kodi. Also the internet providers have blocked streaming

On my tv and it is a couple of years old I have iplayer, itv player and 4 OD. On top of that it has all the apps for amazon and others etc loads of options for films or box sets.
Also on top of that it has normal internet access so can get on about anything.
Oh not forgetting you can add a memory card for recording.
Regardless of that I usually rent a film off sky if I want to what one, it's easy and downloads to your hard drive.

I'd second the Firestick. I've watched a lot of series since getting mine a couple of months ago. I do seem to end up back-to-backing though. Good job I'm retired.
You can add it by adding ES Explorer and then Kodi, plus as many add-ons as you think you need. I've got Mobdro but don't really use it.

Have had MOBDRO on this pc for about 12 months, rarely use and its free. Be amased what you can watch from sports, movies, tv worldwide.
Just downloaded Kodi, will try that.
Have a Smart Panny 4 yr old model with inbuilt Freesat and Freeview fine and easy to use. Freeview better has more channels but Freesat has a better menu system. Nothing worth watching on normal telly so the likes of ITV Player, BBC I Player worthless. If want to watch something easily done via inbuilt PVR external memory card(s) and twin tuners.
Also have Netflix nipper pays for, horrible menu and majority already shown to death on Freeview/Freesat. Same with a fair chunk of these new providers jumping on the bandwagon charging for a free otherwise service. Have BT as well free as part of package, waste of time never used unless like BT soccer.

I have an android box with kodi and many others , before I got the box I downloaded kodi on my laptop and watched it on there and straight onto tv using a hdmi lead from laptop to tv , you could try doing that first to see if you like it before buying a box

I bought a NowTV box as a cheap and easy way to get iPlayer etc on our old TV. Used the Entertainment and Film package freebies and signed up for them at £17 /mth then ended up with one on the bedroom TV too. First off it was a bit flaky and kept crashing especially when the latest Game Of Thrones went online and Sky kept handing out freebie months as compensation. Since then it has been reliable apart from they keep updating the software and you have to relearn the layout! My stepson signed up for Netflix so we've been sharing access and I'm finding at the moment Netflix content is preferable and considering cancelling NowTV. A big upside for both of them is the lack of advertising making most hour long shows 40 minutes.
Downloaded Kodi not keen but usable. How do I get out of it without constantly having to shut it down to view a web page?
If I can get Mobdro on Kodi rather than through Bluestacks might use it.
