Telescopic pruner

Looking for a telescopic pruner to lop a couple of small branches at the stable, what are folks views on this one I'm guessing the name Spear & Jackson means nothing these days

Ive had that exact one for about 10 years now. Its excellent for what it is - go for it.

im a skinflint wood saw on an extending pole

the pole is a painters extending pole ( aluminium ) ive had for ages and has good grip on the last pole

though i changed the angle more on the saw so it cut more across the top and side of the branch compared to just at the side as the saw started to trap but it did exactly what i wanted it to do and i cut loads of limbs off

I have one that looks like the spear and jackson; had it for a long time and it has been good. There's a bit of a knack to getting the best out of them. Take a photo of it - the cord will break eventually and having a picture of how it installs will be a big help!!!

First sort are not great, the string alsways seems to char h on everything

The Magnusson sort is the way to go. Excellent quality lightweight pruner.

Fiskars UPX86 is the same thing but double the price, quality may be better but we are happy with the Magnusson one for professional use.

I have one it's great, if the branch is too thick the saw soon slices through.

If you want to do really high branches the sectional poles are better you can reach about 30 foot but you need a bit practice to use them

I can't believe how good a silky saw is:

I brought a short Bahco copy - got on with that so well - I then got an expensive proper really long silky saw.

The Screwfix "Roughneck" is an amazingly good tool. It comes with a plastic holder that hangs from your belt. Really useful when you're hanging around in the treetops.
