What sort of weight would the hoist be expected to lift ?

I have in mind,though don’t know if there available,box section sliding in tube with a ball race between the two box sections,so there’s no protruding steelwork and the doors close.

This is the most important question , any design really depends on this
there are various systems avaliable
as said above providing for personal use it would be not too much work making one of these
Ive seen them on FB etc for under £200
