Tefal Fryer--Who uses one?

I use real potatoes and teaspoon of oil in my actifryer and they are awesome....

I think the Actifryer is just about the winner at the moment, there are a few reviews of the paddles breaking but they are cheap enough to replace if it happens.

Will wait till the end of the week, my Amazon firestick arrived today so I may be signing up for prime free trial after a play to check BB speed...next day free delivery on the actifry so £3 p&p saved already.

Yep, had the paddle break several times in the couple of years we had one, also the handle a few times if I recall although that may have been the next one we got.
The Philips we have now has been the best in my opinion, just have to shake the chips half way through their cooking to loosen them up or they can stick together.

To be fair I think both times it was dropped whilst washing, then again wasn't from a great height, they seem to get very brittle through use.
As you say though they are cheap enough to replace, might be worth buying one as a spare so you don't lose out on a day of chips

Yeah but she plays hell when I give them about 20 sprays.

The one spray is a complete myth, but a nice light coat makes a difference to all the oven chips I've tried ( can't think of any that I've not tried )

The responses show the quest for a good chip is viewed as seriously as the wish for a good welding set

I have found one of the best so far is also one of the cheapest, Iceland crinkle cut at £1 for a big bag, a drop of oil on them and they are pretty damn good as far as frozen chips can be.

A halogen oven which we have is a brilliant bit of kit for oven chips in 15 mins ...

+1 Tip - I had one and the temperature control seized and broke off, so on my new one I always sweep the knob from zero to maximum before and after use to keep it free. To keep the heat in I wrapped the outside with cooking foil, shiny side in.

Anyway, I just went in the pantry as I spotted a box a few weeks back and wondered what it was, it seems we have a brand new halogen cooker thingy which neither of us know what its for ( obviously there is a book in the box ) so I'll have a play later this week.

(edit) if I'd suspected it would make chips I'd have had a bit more interest in it....

They are good for oven chips, sausages, bacon and that sort of thing but don't be fooled by the claims they make great stews etc, they heat from the top like a grill and if you half fill the bowl with a stew the bottom stays cold.

that makes perfect sense, I have a slow cooker thingy which makes good Chilli and Stews etc and seems cheap enough to run, I always enjoy them more the day after anyway so leaving them burbling for a day improves things.

Its quite handy as 'er indoors is vegan so even a small slow cooker makes enough for decent portions for me, if it were feeding two it would be a little bit small.

Since retiring I have enjoyed doing a bit of cooking...as long as she washes up

A slow cooker is a great thing, throw in a joint of beef for 5 hours and it's so tender you can cut it with a fork, same for all meats.
