Technics stylus

Just putting my Technics system back together and thought I'd treat it to a new stylus.

Searching finds me this one what do the audiophiles think? and should I treat it to a new belt at the same time?

Not sure if that'll work but you need a 2p coin blue tacked to the arm.

I change mine every now and then and seem to notice a difference! Worth having a spare even if it doesn't?!

I generally worry when I've fallen asleep for hours after a record has finished and the needles sat bumping on the centre of the vinyl (no auto return) or the needles jumped at the end of a record and spun across the centre card. They're the main times I change the stylus! I'm sure that little diamond is fine but it plays on my mind.

The cheapest styli are rated for hundreds of hours. You're fine.

The low cost Audio-Technica cartridges are bargains. The first one I had was an at110 and it punched well above it's price. Arm set up matters as well.
I currently have a Nagaoka cartridge, four times the cost but not a fourfold improvement.

Agree re the AT cartridges. They are surprisingly good for the price.

I always say if in doubt, get an AT. Their microlinear cartridge is great value and extracts more detail than 99.8% could hear or tell.

Options are limited for Mr Star's P-mount table there, but AT save the day anyway! That elliptical stylus is a significant upgrade from factory.

I went from an Ortofon VMS30E mk2 to a Nagaoka MP-11 Boron.
That was in 1988. Still using it
