I have acquired an old Techna hand Spot-Welder and separate Techna Timer & Compensator Unit.
The transformer inside the Timer Unit says 240V. But the wiring colour coding is strange for the mains cable. I think it may have been on a 16amp commando plug, but that had been removed when I got it.
There are 3 cables;
Yellow/Green - earth
Blue -goes to the power regulator switch, which has 6 positions from 0-5
Black - goes to the hand unit, but is first part of a small wound transformer that I think powers a circuit board.
There are no IC (chips) it is all old school, so I think 1970's, Techna hold no records.
Which is live, which is neutral? As it is AC, does it matter?
