How come chlorine is so toxic when it is in useful stuff like Rocol and yet benevolent or even beneficial when put in our drinking water?

big difference between parts per million, and a significant % of chlorine, also depends on what the chemical molecule is, free chlorine is very different to chlorine dioxide.

Our bodies contain quite a lot of chlorine, mostly associated with sodium and potassium, but also as hydrochloric acid. There's around 105grams of chlorine, in a person weighing 70kg!!
