Does anyone know if taper pin drill bits are available in sets.
Hm. I know conical reamers, drilling with different diameter drills on both sides, then reaming - I know. Conical drills 100:1 - have not seen.Does anyone know if taper pin drill bits are available in sets.
I didn't know that but thanks for the information. I don't often have to do anything to taper pin holes but I have a few that will need sorting.Looking at the prices here:
DTP - HSS Taper Pin Drill
Huge Range of Drill Bits & Accessories. Same Day Despatch before 4pm! Customs Available -Milling Cutters, Reamers & Much More | Order Now - 01293 774 911www.drill-service.co.uk
they would not sell many sets.
I guess you know that imperial and metric taper pins have different angles.
Taper pin reamers seem to be cheaper than taper pin drill bits.
I didn't know that but thanks for the information.
Cheers. Just confirm Tracy tools stock a good range of taper pin reamers both metric and imperialPlease confirm the facts from a reliable source: I think imperial is 1:48 and metric is 1:50. Also, for the pins, one measurement system is nominally sized from the big end and the other is nominally sized from the small end (so a 5/16" taper pin would be quite a bit different to an 8mm one).
There are sets of Chinese metric taper pin reamers on eBay for not much money.
For imperial ones, maybe see if Tracy Tools have any. G&M are listing a few on eBay. RDG have them new up to 1/4" for about £9 each.
Yes different taper for imperial and metric. Please confirm the facts from a reliable source: I think imperial is 1:48 and metric is 1:50.
