Taper drills for tapered holes

I need some help.
Just spent a few hours making file handles, chisel handles for the Men In sheds.

Yes should be a Hickory, box I know. but needs must etc.

Now, this is the bit I need help for.

I need a taper drill to drill the holes for the tapered tangs of the tools.

Any one know were I can get one from.

The annoying bit.
I had one, max hole was 3/8", but it must of been a Student, it has gone traveling.

Get the tang red hot and push it into the handle, no drills required

Usually the holes are just normal holes and the file tang creates the taper. The ferrule stops the handle splitting. Otherwise you can drill the hole full depth at one size then half depth at a bigger size to create a stepped hole and reduce the pressure on the handle.

I just use a long series drill and move it side to side a bit.
