Tape identity

Got to be up there with the most interesting question ever, but can anyone identify this tape?

It's plastered all over 80s Fords holding trim and material (headliner). It's tacky as hell and almost like a fabric backing. It's not the same as the fabric loom tape you can get, but all my generic Google terms are failing to find anything that looks to be the stuff.

Any suggestions?

That 3101 certainly looks close! Closer than anything I've found so far anyway. Think I need to find/visit a local supplier so I can see it in the flesh before spending £20+ on a roll though

Hard to know really. But this stuff has been used on the loom in places (inclusive of the engine bay) but then equally tucked under rubber seals (protecting completely from UV, nowhere near heat etc) and its been consistent.

But 30+yrs is a long time so localised environment might mean nothing.

I'd go for old age from the sound of that. Last thing you want is exposed super duper sticky on an assembly line when shoving looms in etc
