Tap and Die set

I'm looking for a cheap UNC/UNF set up to around 3/4", I have a big presto metric set but only want the imperial one for odd jobs on the old Farmall tractor I have
So if anyone has a set to sell or know of a ok set new at the right money please let me know

Look at Tracey tools in Newton abbott.
They sell individual tap/dies of good quality.
So can add to collection as and when needed.

as above they do carbon steel ones cheap enough and good quality. I have a load of there taps and dies

Yes. Tracey tools. They do some nice tools. They have a huge range of threading equipment to cater for most budgets

Perhaps it’s just me but I won’t deal with them anymore . I bought a set that were so crap I chucked them and used the box for a micrometer
Unless it’s a panic job I’d rather make up a set by purchasing high quality taps n dies off eBay individually

If it's just for cleaning up threads then a cheap set will do fine. I've had a sealey set for years for this that does the job admirably.

If it's for creating threads I echo the above and buy Individually. I buy quality for common sizes but will sometimes buy super cheap for one offs.

plenty of good taps on the bay.......
for weired odd ball stuff have bougfht from China......no complaints from me.....
bought a few big'uns for 10-20£ where I'd start paying £60 ++++ each for Brit / Euro made....
they did the job perfectly and still good.......

Do you have a Nut and bolt supplier near you?

My local one will get imperial Tap and dies in, normally in 24 hours. They range from cheep (to clean threads) to expensive units.

As aid, the Bay is also a great source to find some.

I have a Draper set I reach for when needing to clean up a thread, I also have a few thread files. Moving on.
