tanya batteries ..?

I got a duff one off them, oddly weighed less than it was meant to and was low on cranking amps, they took it back and replaced it, more of a QC issue it seemed.

brother keeps everything so will be suprised if he can t find it , note most reciepts fade to vanish after 8 months though !

what classes as proof of purcchase other than reciept ?ta

As @qwakers says bank/credit statement, anything really that legitimately shows a payment and purchase was made of an item, even a photo of a receipt has resolved a refund for me.

Returning items to a shop using a receipt is the easier method if simply because it gives more details of a purchase and is rarely questioned.

Bank statements and such, while a proof of purchase, usually don't carry the same type of details as a receipt does so may take a company/organisation a little longer to arrange a replacement/refund.

BIB yes especially thermal receipts but the ink type fade to, just takes a little longer.

These days you really do need a system in place so you can backtrack and find receipts for duff goods, a friend keeps a folder with photocopies of all major purchases in date order for this very reason.

Varta is what’s fitted as OE batteries to most European cars with the manufacturers stickers on them.

Varta and Bosch while usually not the same battery, many have similar specs, both are manufactured alongside each other,--or were.

I was told some Bosch batteries were in fact rebadged Varta batteries.

think I will be buying another..cars charging fine , first varta lasted just two months , so they gave him another brand which has only lasted 2 years , cells gone on that one , so without being able to find original purchase proof, although they have it all on their end , listing these and one I bought for mitsi they are saying we can t find it ...bs . so wont be recomending stock sold by tanya batteries to anyone soon.... as they are from our experiance just not up to snuff.pia

I've never used Tanya batteries myself, but over the years quite a number of my customers have purchased motorbike batteries from them.
Some were very good, & some were not so good, & had to be returned.

I think that one of the issues with such places is stock turnaround.
As the vast majority of batteries nowadays are factory commissioned. They start to degrade right from the off, & if they're not put into service, & lounge on the shelf for a few months, they'll certainly be below par when they're eventually sold. As opposed to the old lead acid batteries which were vacuum sealed, & had a shelf life of a couple of years, because they don't activate until one lobs the acid in them.

Motobatt are a popular brand of motorbike battery due to their slightly higher cranking amperage. I had a customer buy one which he asked me to fit. It had 10.2 volts in it. So it had obviously been lounging somewhere for quite some time. He had to send it back.
If I supply a Motobatt battery I get them from the importers, & have never had one arrive with less than 12.6 volts within. Due to the importers rotating stock properly.

I think that due to the cost/aggro of returning something as heavy as a battery it's better to purchase one locally. Then if a problem occurs it's easier to sort.
Fortunately for me I have a very good battery supplier quite local to me called CPC Batteries in Tolworth Surrey. I've used them for nearly 30 years, & have had very few batteries fail prematurely not least because they only stock decent brands of battery. It's also because they rotate their stock properly.

On another note. Has anyone here used the Duracell brand of car battery?
I've found them to be very good. I fitted one to my Transit van which gets used infrequently. It lasted 8 years, & was replaced with (you've guessed it). Another Duracell.
Last month I had to replace the battery on my Suzuki Vitara which is a 1600 petrol with all the stop/start ******. A new Duracell from CPC was just under £105 which I thought was pretty good.

I tend to go Yuasa or Bosch Silver (believe Bosch are produced by Varta).

Write it on a bit of paper, take a picture of that paper and send them the picture. Always works

tried yuasa on mine and his only lasted 12 and 18 month , where as the original mitsi battery had lasted ten..

Take a pic of your email addresss written on a piece of paper. Attach the pic to your email to Tanya.

finally they hhave located invoice ,2023, first powerline battery failed within two months, (brothers rav4)cell down, replacement sent , that has now failed , so expect a replacement as original had four year warranty . I bought one for my l200, dead on arrival, they had to replace that after collecting and replacement had spike marks where they tested before delivery on my request .
wont be using tanya batteries any more , three out of four duff isnt good odds .

he had two yuasa on the trot through halfords , and I had one one l200, ok if you expect to replace yearly.

I suspect modern batteries are built down to a price.
But remember some vehicles will drain a battery constantly. Even when the ignition is off.
