It did cross my mind.
I very occasionally get people who enjoy ging through the process, all the design stages etc etc, then lose interest.
Drives me mad, but you can never tell. A kind of financial version of internet trolls.

Eg one blokey got in touch regards a ridiculous idea, did not seem too bothered. I gave him a daft quote to get rid of him. He said yes and paid up promptly. Other times I will get a 'cert' somebody who asks all the right questions and carries on asking them for ever and ever and ever.
I figure if this guy wants his stuff he will accept my terms. In 5 years at this full time this is a first.

" Only work that way and have had no complaints in all the years you have been doing it. To do it any other way such as escrow or one of the many deposit held by a third party schemes would incur extra costs to both parties and in this day and age not many people seem keen on that as it could add XXX % onto the cost.

To my surprise the customer did come back, and has paid 50% up front for his shelving, turns out his wife got ripped of by an online seller a while back. He has taken the Paypal option and paid the fees. Result.

went into natwest the other day, after they threatened my partner with bailiffs for a perfectly legit account she held.

Spoke to the manager, who told us firstly: "don't give out any information on the phone, none at all."

Then, she said: "I can't get any information about this situation here, its not my job"

So, we shouldn't tell them anything over the 'phone, and they can't tell us anything in branch. Hmm...
