Will 1.6 rods weld nuts and bolts. Or will I need 2.5 rods . I only want to tack weld .
Yes, they will tack, but what power source do you have?15mm 13mm
No, wood is not a conductive material, and turn the amps up to burn through the galv.15mm 13mm . As I’m a novice. Silly question, I have earthed my work bench , those that mean I can actually put the Piece I’m arc welding on , let’s say piece of wood , and still get a arc, all so these are galvanised
I find this relaxing
Maybe not exactly what he needsSomething like this would be ideal for you. Simple 6013 from reputable manafacturer I've used these myself and they arent bad.

If they're galv nuts and bolts just let them soak in white vinegar for 24hrs+ and it'll soon dissolve offGrind the galv off, or buy nuts that are self colour. Nasty stuff galv.
Maybe not exactly what he needs
3.2mm isn't the easiest rod to use on little parts
Wouldnt bother with likes of toolstation or similar welding suppliers or just order offline. Thanks for reply, I’ll try toolstation .
